Mr. Morckel

This one will make sense to the band students, especially the class of 2017 I am adding this in right now. Jeff Morckel hails from the state of Ohio, where he attended Youngstown State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education in 2008. He also attended Ohio State University, where he received a Master of Arts degree in Music in 2012. Mr. Morckel currently serves as the band director at BHS (2013-present). He also teaches Piano, Computers I, and Computers 2 at the high school. Mr. Morckel has also taught Band and Music Appreciation at Atkins Middle School during his time at Bridgeport-Spaulding Community Schools. Previously, Mr. Morckel taught K-8 General Music at Nolan Elementary School in Detroit and piano lessons at 88 Keys Music Studio in Pickerington, Ohio

Mr. Morckel enjoys playing the piano, listening to as much music as possible, programming computer games, and watching winter sports and college football in his spare time.  He tries to stay active by walking, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and playing disc golf. In the summer, Mr. Morckel enjoys traveling as well as spending time with family.

He and his wife Victoria live in Grand Blanc with their cat, Shadow.
